My Doc, 'The Drug Lord'

(28 days after surgery)

Today I finally saw my new GP physician, Dr. Marck Hudon. His office was minutes away from our house, and in general he was an all-around nice guy. We had a genuinely productive conversation while he did his checks and balances — blood pressure, pulse, surgery scars, ear and eye examinations, etc. Finding a good doctor is no different than finding a good mechanic, but I think I found a good one with Dr. Hudon.

He has also taken over my medication prescriptions from the hospital, and therefore has become my ‘Drug Lord’ by default. We had an extensive conversation about getting addicted to Oxycodone, but as I do not have an addictive personality to things like coffee, alcohol, etc., I was insistent we continue with the small doses until my sternum pain subsides. I’m ready to be done with the drugs, but until my chest says otherwise, I am willing to be a vegetable for a little while longer...
